Promoting Healthy Bee Populations in The County of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot

TRAINING APIARY (Penllergaer)

Please refer to the beekeepers calendar for dates

We offer beginner training sessions every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from late April through September, weather permitting. For complete beginners, this is a unique opportunity to observe a ‘working’ beehive up close. Protective suits are provided, but you will need to bring your own gloves (such as Marigolds) and wellington boots. This is a perfect chance to explore this exciting hobby and see if it’s right for you. Experienced beekeepers will always be present to offer guidance and advice.

You may drive directly to the entrance of the apiary, but please wait for an instructor to arrive before gaining access.

You don’t have to be a member to attend a taster session. Feel free to drop by any Sunday between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Introduce yourself, put on a protective suit (please bring your own gloves and wellingtons), and give beekeeping a try – with absolutely no obligation to join the association!

MEETING VENUE (Llangyfelach Church Hall)
